Description The 4th Doctor, Tom Baker.

The longest lasting actor in the part of the Doctor is also the most recognizable to most people all over the world and especially in America where most peoples first exposure to the series was episodes from the 4th Doctor era. The part was handed to Tom when Jon Pertwee stepped down to pursue a stage acting career. On screen the 3rd Doctor appeared in his last story "Planet of the Spiders" where after killing the great One, the leader of the spiders, he gets exposed to lethal radiation and returns to Earth where he regenerates into the 4th Doctor.

The 4th Doctor run being the longest is full of some of the greatest stories. His impossibly long scarf and his wild hair are easily recognized by most fans world wide.

Ha, well, I suppose it's all about how tall you are and how you wear it but yes, they get rather long XD I have a 15 foot scarf and that thing really just barely keeps out of my way XD

Silly American tv, you will eventually give in to British telly. XD
I recently asked my friends who their first Doctor was, and most of them said 4th...

Not really I won't no XD The UK can make just as many bad shows as the US can and really I already like plenty of British shows. XD

Yeah, I agree. TV is TV, no matter where it is. Although Brits do have some mighty fine shows. XD
