I however agree with you that my first thought was "Why is this in DD?".
I mean, sure, it's a really pretty woman(I would kill for her legs) and the picture is nice. But that's it. My expectations might be too high, but this didn't give me any of "Wow"-feeling. Too common, as you said. If I would google "hot girl smoking", I could probably find more artistic or creative than a hot girl sitting in a couch and doesn't do more than look pretty. This is too much of an Instagram-photo for my taste and could be taken by basically anyone. But that's my personal opinion. ^^''
My biggest disappointment lies actually in that the artist, Polilux, does take gorgeous pictures in general! I took a quick glance through his galleria and I found so many stunning pictures that I get actually a bit angry about the fact that this one got a DD when he does have so many more BETTER, ARTISTIC, Β INTERESTING, CREATIVE AND BEAUTIFUL pictures in his portfolio. It's like this one was mistaken from..any of the other pictures in his galleria! .____.''
But then again, because of this picture I discovered him and I think I will watch his future works. Something positive comes out of the negative, as they say.

It'd help if this was a two way thing, though. It's not just the CV going around and browsing for art, but people from the community who should be suggesting the pieces. If you don't suggest or talk to the CV, then what grounds do you have to complain?

I'm just saying if a person does nothing at all, then there's little point expecting things to be changed. If you do suggest, then that's fine.
If there are great artists and they need to be seen, they need to put themselves out there, be it through features, or something else.
