I so totally agree... at that chapter I was astonished that Naruto SUDDENLY got worth reading again...
A shadow in the background would have been enough...
The chapter after that was bad (even the people coming out of the cocoon's - who would be happy to come back into reality after having the dream of your life?!? and regrowing limbs?)... and the colored one was even worse... 
Kishimoto should have let Naruto end it at that very chapter...

I'll let Kishimoto know that his story about a boy becoming the Hokage should have ended before he became the HokageΒ Β

Yeah... there were lots of other things that the story was about...
Like friendship ...
Then it is a story about people that are not destined to be something great and achieve that by working hard a day to achieve what others couldn't achieve working for all their life's.
They don't have to be born for that position.
It is a story were people can *insert* not *insert* have faults. Therefore limbs have to regrow... but well... that is nothing is it?
Who would want to have a Hokage with faults anyways...
Besides that - the kids are real brats... and it seems as if the Jounin - we began to like - suddenly got total worn out and have been delivered to a house of aged with... about 50 years(?)
NO - dear Kishi - it would have been better to end the story before Naruto had become Hokage... and open end is a pretty good way to end a story.
At least the drama would have been there... Naruto had become a mainstream manga.
And Kishi did about everything to please the mainstream in the end again. With a mainstream ending, mainstream pairings, mainstream kids...
Oh well - if you like it, do so... but not everybody is your opinion...

Oh well I don't really care...
Personally I just think that the manga's that have a wicked ending or ending that makes people think about it are the best ones... and my impression is, that those who read many mangas and watch many animees have the same thoughts.
Naruto's ending is almost mainstream in any ways... and pleases superficial feelings but doesn't go beyond the skin.
It doesn't make people think, doesn't make them cry, doesn't make them laugh, doesn't open their eyes in surprise...
Personally I think a mediocre book can fuck up your brain for years if the ending just blows you off your feet. And that is what I want. What I am searching for.
Naruto had the option. A manga about becoming Hokage? What is being a Hokage anyways? Couldn't everything that this title means be reached in other ways without bearing the title? Are titles so important? Is that the message the manga wants to give us?
Just think about it... the manga could have been a hell lot more... but it wasn't. After the picture above Kishi went the wrong way...
I could rant a year about why it sucks... but why burden myself with that...?

Its entirely possible for Sasuke to develop the Rinnegan. You need two things, Uchiha and Senju cells. Bring the two families back together once again. I believe the First did just that to Sasuke, and Madara developed his right before he died, Sasuke's right there. As for Naruto; whats wrong with him getting the other half of Karuma's Chakra?Β
