Description
This is a christmas present for my mum. (:Her horse is called Huntwyck, or Peter in the stable, and she was given him as a birthday present about 4 years ago. He is a retired 16.2hh irish sport horse 3 day eventer, and came 7th at a CCI** before he reached his limit at the age of 12 when he pulled one of his muscles in a bad fall.
Peter is 16 next year and my mum does dressage and jumping on him. We are so biased and think he is really beautiful, but I really think he has a fine head, which is why I decided to try this realism. xD I also ride him occassionally, and took him to camp last year. He's a bit wiley though in his old age, and definitely knows how to run out if he doesn't think a stride is comfortable.
Actually it was who suggested that I try some realism, and I'm really glad I did. It took me well over 10 hours but I'm really pleased and I think it does Pete justice.
Reference was from a photo my dad took at camp last year.

very nice work, the bridle texture is amazing and the colours are great, nice detailed areas like the ears and the mane, and I like the eye. I think it may have benefitted (is that a word? lol) from a little bit of light reflection in the eye, just to give him some spark. But it's a lovely piece
