Why does Oak never give Blue any words of praise or affection? He never seems to be a real Grandfather. It always looks like he prefers Red over his own family. Oak and Daisy are all that Blue has left, so why doesn't Oak ever actually show some love?

I felt rather guilty when defeted him in the final over chapion title, Blue lost everything he worked on so hard, and didn't even get time to gain some happines from it, or aproval from Oak, only getting the opposite.

Whoa, whoa, did you see that first comic? I mean, Eevee looked like it took quite a beating, but it's fine now. So I doubt that his Umbreon died. It's mostly just that Gary lost everything he had been working for for the last year or so, and he already has a pretty fragile psyche.

Actually, that "Eevee" was a raticate. (Take a closer look) And the Raticate is dead. Sorry, I don't want to seem mean, but you can do all the research you want, Blue's Raticate died in a battle.

Oh, I see what you mean-- the white thing on it's neck threw me off.
Though, it's not a fact that Blue's Raticate died in a battle. I mean, that's one way to interpret the reason it was no longer on his team during the next battle, but it could also be that Blue just thought there was a stronger Pokemon out there. I actually didn't know this, but he doesn't have a Raticate in Yellow-- so he couldn't have an Eevee (or Umbreon) and a Raticate at one point. If you want to be technical, which isn't any fun.
