Life before joining the Oak Springs herd was very, very rough on Byrn . Along with handling the emotional pain of recently losing his mate to snakebite, he also has to constantly worry about losing their precious foal Froggie to some unknown danger.

The day can start off perfectly normal and pleasant...but very quickly go downhill at the sight of a coyote, wolf, or mountain lion. Byrn is usually such a mellow stallion so acting aggressive is difficult for him. But he forced himself to intimidate in order to save his foal's life.
