This is an older sketch I did of my cat, Hana (back in 2005). Really though, the only difference between then and now is that her ear hairs are so long they curl around the outsides of her ears now. And her neck ruff is even more poofy.The pic sort of ended up with a fisheye-lens effect, or perhaps a macrocephalic look...mostly this was my failed attempt to convey that I was looking down at her, but she does also have huge staring eyes and a kinda disproportionately huge tail, so it still works. It's a little cartoony, but I like cartoons. And the tiny nub foot.

heh until I read the comments I would have never guessed that you intended for a fish eye effect. I suppose I'm not well trained enough to pick up such detail. Her eyes and her tail are a bit comically large but it helps to establish...god forgive for using this word...cuteness. Hell the human eye gravitates towards the face more so than anything on living creatures and your cat's eyes are exceptionally warm and inviting. Hmm I can see the cat having a fluffier mane too. You know with a couple of tweaks this cat can look like a pretty regal lion if you wanted to. But I suppose that what I get for comparing who creatures from the same family XP

The real Hana also has a habit of lovingly staring holes in people...I didn't think most cats like extended eye contact but she's a weirdo, haha.

I have cats that do the most insane stuff. Sometimes I find them sitting together on a window ledge and talking to each other. THey meow at different tones! 0.0
