Description 2004

My husband tells me that I draw the sexiest ewoks that he has ever seen. lol. Another RPG character from the Star Wars d20 setting. She's a shaman (force adept) that the jedi ran into when visiting the moon of Endor for the first time. The game takes place before the Empire, and it's going to wrap around to thier notes about this moon leading the Empire to finding it in the future.

I like to draw my ewoks with a mixture of way they looked from the movies, and the ewok cartoon series (from the 80s).

Pencil drawing, coloured in adobe

I absolutely LOVE this picture. Do you do requests, or do you only make pictures for RPG characters in games only you have played?

Thank you. ^_^
Yeah, pretty much just characters from the games I'm in since they inspire me the most. I don't do requests though, sorry.

I agree with your husband! I loved those Ewoks from the movies. I kinda, sorta remember the cartoon series. I'm not sure if it came out before or after I was born. Anyway, I love it she almost looks human.

I have another sketch of Meenona somewhere, but just like this one it's pretty old now. Whenever we get back into this RP I should have more pictures of ewoks again.

I loved the cartoon series, and the comic series, it really added to the whole setting.

is there any chance you were named after the Ewoke movie? that is the only place i have ever heard the name Krista before>?

XD I want to hug you for even thinking that I could be that young. I used to love the movie when I was a kid because the character had my name.

I love that movie too, as far as the age, well, your work is amazing, what does it matter what age you are, of course that might explain why you can afford a tablet <>

Heh, I may be in my mid 30s but I'm dirt poor. I was only able to get a tablet because a very nice person supported me and paid for it. ^_^ I was in an employment program where a wonderful person really supported my art and was trying to help me get started and out there as an artist. I never would have even made it this far without her.

She does look cute and cuddly. I'm playing a male Twi'lek Jedi in a Saga Edition game set during the KotOR period.

We really need to pick up our SW rp again soon. We're probably going to cross it over with our plane/dimention travelling rp. (It was formerly the RIFTS rp, but it's evolved way past that system.)

I really need to brush up on my Old Republic, honestly I know very little about it. The new SW MMORPG is supposed to be based in the OR.

WickedPrince In reply to PookaWitch [2009-10-26 01:52:00 +0000 UTC]

Yeah you and your husband playing together sounds like fun. I keep hoping to find a GF that I can do that with. I have a bad habit of wanting to have a sidekick when I play who is usually my chars romantic interest. In the Saga game I included a Destiny to find the TWi'lek girl that I'd met and trained alongside when I joined the Jedi Temple. She'd disappeared shortly after and my characters hope was to find her and get her back into the order.

Basically some of my very best character ideas are for females, but I feel silly playing cross-gender, I've never quite felt right about it whether it's me or somebody else doing it.

A year ago my local game store hosted a multi-gm Saga event for the summer. The best concept I had was for a female Twi'lek Jedi/Scoundrel, the cute girl who manages to talk her way through things mainly because everyone is to busy staring at her to pay attention to what she's saying. She dresses more like a dancing-slave than a Jedi, including a slave collar and leash - and the leash handle conceals her Lightsaber.

Pfft, are you kidding? Even way back in highschool I refused to date guys if they weren't gamers. (And I've been with my husband since highschool.)

That is one of the difficult parts of Jedi is the (depending on the source) rule that they cannot have relationships beyound platonic. Mind you the comics and novels seem to have changed that a bit, and I think it's different in the OR, isn't it?

Way too often our characters wind up together, it sounds silly but I think it's what has kept our marriage strong. We're always getting that feeling of new love again with each other.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

WickedPrince In reply to PookaWitch [2009-10-26 23:16:46 +0000 UTC]

Technically during most periods Jedi are encouraged to NOT have relationships as the council believes that close relationships lead to emotional distress - and this leads to the Dark Side. It's also been determined that the children of somebody who is 'Strong in the Force' are always stronger than their parents - Luke and Leia both proved to be stronger than Anakin eventually - and that extra power often leads to overconfidence.

But a variety of Jedi during many periods marry - even Luke marries Mara Jade. And the Twi'leks have several families that are known to produce Jedi.

The Jedi Council tends to be less contrary to Jedi marriages during periods when their numbers are low. Such as in the years after Revan went over to the Sith during the OR - which is when we are playing.

AS for gamer-dating: it's easier for the girls to be choosier about that since a lot more gamers are guys, but most guys have to hope they can convert their gfs afterwords. And as mentioned I got darned old somehow (47) and don't get out to regular social events much anymore so I don't meet anyone I'm much interested in. My own nervousness and self-consciousness ruined my last two relationships.

I read on wookiepedia something about it also being a way to avoid jedi 'dynasties' of generations taking over.

According to the novels and comics though that was often ignored anyhow. >.>

Yeah there are a few worlds at least that have a history of being ruled by the descendants of failed Jedi.

I think it was Kneesa. ^^ Thank you so much. It's a much older picture though.

No, I did a search for "ewok" and it came up. I also have an Ewok drawing you should check out, but mine is a "Hufflepuff" Ewok.

PookaWitch In reply to Buzz-On [2008-08-19 20:21:37 +0000 UTC]

Ah! That makes more sense. There is a new star wars movie coming out, and it probably has people searching. I had been wondering why suddenly an old picture was being viewed and commented on.

OOo, I'll go check it out.

I had based her a bit after the cartoon versions. I used to love them as well. I guess that it had something to do with the age you were when first seeing RotJ.

PookaWitch In reply to OxKing88 [2008-08-08 23:07:07 +0000 UTC]

I'm guessing that you never saw the old cartoon series during it's hey day then? It really did a lot to fill out the ewoks. But then again I was fairly young when RotJ came out, and in the age group that loved the ewoks.

^^ I do love how she turned out. I've had some people who like the movie version more then the cartoon one complain that she doesn't look like an ewok. I like to draw them somewhere in the middle between the two versions. (Mostly as it suits my art style more. )

Teeha (thank you).
