I noticed that you use the ESV...
I feel that you should be using the NIV. Circa 1984 edition, preferred. My Synod has concluded that this edition of the NIV Bible, is the best balance of Accuracy and modernized understandable vernacular. At least for non study Bibles.
Peace ✌😇✝

This is curious.
The KJV reading of this passage doesn't say anything about his 'family' but that it was his friends.

I grew up solid KJV, so, it sounds weird how modern verses alter the texts.
Some newer versions completely remove whole verses and stuff and change the whole meaning of verses.
The ESV does contain errors, like for example in Mark 1:2-3, it credits only Isaiah the prophet, but in reality Mark was quoting from two different prophets. In verse 2 he quotes from Malachi 3:1, and verse 3 is a quote from Isaiah 40:3.
The KJV renders it more accurately by saying 'prophets', rather than just naming one prophet.
Mr 1:2-3 As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

The ESV and the KJV come from 2 different manuscript sources. The ESV comes from a manuscript that is known to be latent with textual errors, like missing and altered verses.
Such as 1 John 5:7-8
KJV
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
ESV
7 For there are three that testify:
8 the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree.
Some say that later texts removed the mentioning of the Trinity from this passage was due to dealing with cults who were using this verse to prove there were three gods instead of just one.
The ESV also changes seems to make Jesus a lesser being than God with its rendition of Philippians 2:6
KJV
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
ESV
who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,
It sounds like two different things entirely.
In the ESV it seems like it is saying that Jesus was not able to grasp being equal with God.

It does seem odd to think your own dear brother could be the promised Messiah... but did they not remember John the Baptist's proclamation nor the promises God made to Mary? Still, at least they seemed to become believers after the resurrection.

yeah this part definitely show that Mary and her family are just human, and they too subject to doubt.

I'm a little confused as to why they would think that about Jesus. Especially on Mary and Joseph's part as they were visited by angels and Mary had Jesus when she was still a virgin. So why would Mary and Joseph be thinking Jesus was insane?

"Family" here is probably referring to the larger family of Mary and Joseph (ie Mary or Joseph's brothers, sisters, aunts, etc.). Back then, cousins and extended family were very close-knit.

Great comic!
Idk why but I laugh at the first panel. At the second one, it is funny that all the people are like heal me and only Jesus' disciples are like I am hungry. As for the third panel, lol, that guy and that cat...what on earth is he doing lifting up a cat like that? Is he hoping Jesus would heal his cat although that is one happy cat (must be happy to see Jesus)? XD

Yep, I remember reading that somewhere in the bible before. I remember that Jesus was saying how they were just following him for the food and he scold them if I didn't remember wrong.
Haha yep.

I find it pretty interesting that his family seemed a bit concerned in this way.

Thanks! I think things can get a little complicated when one family member is a bit different than everyone else sometimes.
