Is the Equestrian Goddesses set based on the Egyptian God Cards? Sort of the vibe I'm getting. Of course I could be wrong. But then the qoute here is parahrasing Slifer the Sky Dragon.
And Celestia's was the Winged Dragon of Ra.

Yes it is based on the Egyptian God cards, just like in the real Yugioh game i based a set both on the legal and illegal versions of the cards. Nightmare Moon is Obelisk, Celestia is Ra and Cadance is Slifer the Executive Producer (YGOTAS reference). Also, Fausticorn is Horakhty.

You might have to help me with the legal and illegal bits. Cause I don't get it. Though Twilight as Slifer (as in the show itself) would have worked just as well.
Excluding her from the set doesn't feel right to me.

There are 2 versions of each god cards. The illegal one has this quote line in and the card is colored either red, yellow or blue, they can't be used in game. The legal are all colored bronze like all effect monsters and have a solid effect description in the box underneath the picture, these ones can be used in game.
Well i felt Cadance fitted the role more, since she was a princess before Twilight was.

I wonder if Waifu tossing will be an event at the Canterlot Games? (Or would it just be "Family tossing" since in theory he did the same to Twilight at her corination so she could glide at the end like she did. )
