Though, truth be told, its not my shading. I have a team of highly-trained monkeys locked up under my bed with a year's supply of pencils that shade for me. XD

*huggles* It just takes practice. One thing to do is break it down into really simple shapes and build up. References are a really good idea too. <3

I have epic fail with traditional media. And digital too, for that matter. xD
All I'm good at is line art.
I mean, my traditional shading isn't bad- it's just not...OMG. Or anything. And...I chose not to do it because it bores me and I'm super impatient with art @_@

Lightly shaded in the entire sketch, blended it, then I started to make small lines that flow with the way the fur would, go over the entire form with that, blend, take a kneaded eraser make little marks with the flow, darken sections around it.
Its kinda hard to explain.
