I did my first convention about two years ago at an anime con in Sacramento, and have doneΒ five more ever since.Β  I first got into it when I started thinking about ways to sell artwork and also meet other fans and artists of series I liked, since it seemed like it would be a great icebreaker to meet people.Β  It takes quite a bit of planning and a good display to successfully sell at a convention, but I've often come back from cons feeling energetic and full of new ideas, so it often worked out for the best.
