Description
While the Dragon-Scale Tessaiga is not a favourite of mine among Inuyasha's attacks I figured it'd be fun to colour...That said I don't know if I'm entirely happy with this. Any critiques are welcom.

I'm just going with the romanization that I see on [link] . I think I remember hearing that both romanizations are valid, though that was ages ago.

ooh, shiny. nice colouring job, love the subtleness of the scales. I also love IY's determined expression. perhaps his clothes can use some tears/scuff marks to match the scar on his face...

ooh... I think this is the first fanart I've seen with the dragon-scale tessiaga. I love the reflections on the sword, although the sword seems a bit too shiny for the rest of the picture. All the other colors are really dark, and it seems to clash a little. But, I love the pic regardless. Inuyasha's expression and pose are great - wonderful job!

I agree, the sword is too shiny and solid looking and clashes with the rest of the picture. I'll have to find some way to tone it down and still keep it looking swordly.

Very nice. Lots of emotion. And maybe one reason you're not "feeling the sword" is, the main focus of the picture isn't the sword, dispite the fact that the picture is titled for it.
Also, the sword's name is spelled Tetsusaiga. I think it's a ridiculous spelling, personally. My Inuyasha DVDs suck and wont let me change the language to Japanese, so I dunno: do they pronouce the "tsu" in the Japanese version?

I think the real reason I'm not sold on the sword is that it's done in a really slick fashion, but the rest has a sketchy feel so it doesn't fit in. I tried to colour it in a more sketchy fashion, but then it didn't look swordish enough.
I've seen it spelled both Tetsusaiga and Tessaiga... I used to always go by Tetsusaiga but then I started reading the ear-tweak.com scanlations which called it Tessaiga and I trust Kuro's translations more than Viz's. I think it's one of those cases where either romanization is correct, but Tessaiga is closer to the actual Japanese pronunciation.
