I really like how your lens compressed the depth of the shot. The child definitely seems to be peeking out from it, both by his stance and by the darker and more matte tones of his clothes. Again, really well done.

I think it was a little unnecessary to have greyscale only here, since it doesn't serve the intention of capturing the childs curiosity, because I think of a children's world coming much colourful, since everything is new and yet not black/white. I like that you narrowed the sight on the surrounding elements so the child is kept in focus, also it adds up more to a childrens pov. I guess for some grown up such a little common street wouldn't be of lot of interest, but a child's heart does find something. Probably.

using greyscale is generally accepted by all the street photographers since we do not have the power to control the colors on the streets. And sometimes different colors easily distract the attention from where we want to emphasize in the photo. If this was a color photo, i assure you that your attention would be taken by the garbage trunk behind the child. It has more dominant colors then the child.

Still preferr the sharpness of the old non digital machines, Im a big fan of Robert Doisneau and lately Bresson..but the treatment you give to your photos, or settings you use are also superb...all this dispite the photo composition wich is really important...

The secret is the soul of business has they say but maybe one day you can tell me how you create this wonderfull images.

congratulations once again

What made Doisneau and Bresson masters was not how they edited their photos, but what they could "see" and "catch". When you manage to create a unique perspective of your own and build quick reflexes to catch "the moment", even a simple black & white conversion will work great. I can tell you in detail how i convert my photos into black & white, but you have to find your own unique view of perspective to become successful.

I understand what you mean, and not all photos of them are perfectly edited but you put that on your back as soon as you see what they "catch".

I dont pretend to be a "master" of photography but sometimes I catch really great moments, in my opinion, and theres something missing...the quality of the image, the tones..whatever. I would like to master that a little better..
For example if you check my gallery, I have some nice natural "catches" but the only one that I really like is the photo "My new Friend Marco" it as been edited with photoshop but its like you said, didnt do much it simply turned like I wanted...on others it doesnt happen! I am missing technique probably...

One of this days I'll send you a note so you can give me some pointers, if you are willing to

Thank you for your kindness.

just a quick critique about "my new friend marco": There is a huge dead space in the photo which distracted my eyes from the point you wanted to emphasize. And your black and whites are grayish. I think I can help you just send me a note with your questions, and i'll try to do my best to answer them.

Thanks a lot!
In the next days I will do it.
Maybe I can even send you the original photo in color since my Nikon D70 doesnt take photos in B&W and see what you can do with it.

And I'll send you the questions.

It's nice of you to help others like this.

Usually who gets the high level of work like you do dont bother sharing their habilities.

Besides the great photos you have, sharing is also another great quality and we dont find many here with that quality

Nice to know you and you'll be hearing from me soon

Got to go sleep...today was a hard day but ended really nice

Thanks
