When Ryan called in sick, I decided I'd take the whole crew out to Colorado for a shoot with Madeline. Because, Madeline.

The hotel she's staying in not only has that great roman pool, but is actually an early 20th century design classic. in 1921, tungsten magnate Robert Fay Rockwell, future Lieutenant Governor (1923-1927) was approached by an architect who had designed a mansion for Errol Flynn that Flynn decided not to build. Rockwell bought the plans and had the mansion built in Denver, where he held elaborate parties for the political establishment. In "Underground Denver," historian L.J. Bennet Swarther claims that Rockwell's parties were famous not just for hosting the most important people, which was key to his nomination as Lieutenant Governor two years later, but for their sadomasochistic and—especially—bondage activities. Swarther reports at least six confirmed "lascivious balls" which employed as many as 80 prostitutes.

Daz didn't scout the location, since we shot at the hotel Madeline was staying at, but she did find that amazing Desire sign and that so very Star Wars whip. Iray handled the lighting. Photoshop processed the negatives. NIK, Jr. really went to town on the nostalgia, classic glamour Hollywood theme to color grade and finish the photo. Madeline provided the best legs in history and gave me a sweet smile. Ah, swoon.
