You've obviously never heard of Andrewsarchus: large quadrupedal carnivore related to sheep.

I know what Andrewsarchus is. It was featured in the second episode of "Walking with Prehistoric Beasts". Also, it was actually closer to the ancestors of whales.

That's where I heard of Andrewsarchus. I don't remember them saying it was in anyway related to whales, because Andrewsarchus had hooves.

Yep the closest relatives of Andrewsarchus were whales, Entelodonts ('pigs from hell'), and hippos. It was not related to sheep other than both being in the the clade Cetartiodactyla. People like to compare it to sheep because of the 'wolf in sheep's clothing' cliche.

Tet zoo version 3 once had a three part article on this but it Scientific America is a sucky blog system and has delited a lot of Darren's older posts. The most recent is this one...
