How should I describe
the glory of God?
Is it fire from heaven,
or the trembling of lips as they offer praise?
Is it a roaring lion,
or the raging waves of the sea.
Is it untameable as a wildfire,
but as peaceful as a dove?

As bright and wondrous as the rising sun,
with colors bursting forth in showers of color,
painting each piece of His creation
with the signature,
“I AM”

such a glory,
cannot be captured.
neither through the lips of the most reverent,
nor the brush of the master.
it cannot be replicated,
for the glory belongs to Him
who was before all.

And what an honor it is,
to be invited in as His child
to find the peace
that can only be fulfilled
within His presence.

Safe, in the mighty fortress
protective wings,
Here, I will find refuge.

Glory ~ Me

wrote the poem during and after I was working on the piece as I was thinking about God and His glory. I tried to describe His presence as 'loud' the other day. Not necessarily 'loud' as in a noise, but loud as in it commands attention, it stills your heart, it makes great men and women fall to their knees in trembling. It ties in with what I've been struggling with, which is trusting Him. It helps to know that you are the child of the Most High, that such a great King watches over you.
