Stunning. Could be a structure from a futuristic or surreal video game. I really like it.
Your picture gives a very good image!

That's outstanding. You'd feel like you have your own personal temple grounds when sitting out in the courtyard with your family and friends having a meal. I can only assume due to the angle of the sun that the land stays low for quite some time too, probably a neat view.
edit. Lol. Here I was assuming this was some rich person's house.

I love that. it's a quirky mix of contemporary and traditiona- at least to my eyes. I wonder who designed it

Definitely rides that line between the two aesthetics
It was designed byΒ Yukifusa Kokuba. The best info I can find about him and his other works is here:Β www.jia-okinawa.org/member/kokβ¦
Message me if the link doesn't work or is blocked, I will see what I can do

Also, he's the chairman of this architectural firm and a lot of info about him and his work is on here (some can't be easily translated with google translate):Β www.kuniken.co.jp/index.html
Here's his bio on that site:Β www.kuniken.co.jp/kenchikukideβ¦
And here's where you can find more works (the links under the third column): www.kuniken.co.jp/architectura⦠Hint: the Churaumi Aquarium in my photo is the second link in the third column, and was built in 2002

I highly recommend it! Save up for a trip to Okinawa, then do 2 things of great importance:
1) Go to Ocean Expo Park (free to get in, but the Churaumi Aquarium costs roughly $18 for entry).
2) Eat Chicken Cutlet Curry with a side of Nan bread at any Coco's location (CoCo Ichibanya).
I assure you, the money spent on travel will have been more than worth it after that!
