Excellent brushwork. I prefer this to Hamada's!

Was this a naked raku?

Cool piece of work! What does 'Ki covered' mean?

I had an Eastern image in my head when I created it. Ki is the Japanese version of Qi. It roughly means unclear or can't be defined in daily life. I thought that fit what I was trying to portray. Covered is just because it is a covered jar

That's a cool subject! It matches the jar.

I love the lack of symmetry here
But I have a question: what is a raku?

Raku is a process where you pull out the work when it's red hot and glowing with heat and place it into a container with combustible material like news paper, saw dust and what not. Once a good burn has occurred you stop the air flow by not letting oxygen into the container. It traps carbon into the clay body turning it black and allows the flames to leave its mark on the piece. I want my work to show the entire process so this method of firing appeals to me. This isn't the traditional description of raku but it was what the western world considers it. The origin is much different and came from Korea/Japan like most of ceramic firing methods. Hope I answered your question. What kind of work do you do?

Oh, that's interesting. Thank you for answering my question
Me? I usually take photos and sometimes make some simple jewellery. And I'm always amazed by people doing different things, especially connected with creating something "3D", like ceramics, jewellery or sculpture in general.

Thank you very much! That is a huge compliment coming from someone who normally doesn't like this type of work.

no problem, praising good work is normal !

Well it's not exactly that i don't like this type of work. I'm difficult in art and i seek the little thing that makes art exceptionnal.

For exemple : "Blue Green Ball" is well made, not lame at all, but it does not fascinates me.
Here i'm stun by the shape the colors and many details.
