Description I attempted to paint a human for the first time *slams head down on desk*
I can't decide whether it was a success or fail, lets see how I feel about this piece in a week.

I need more practice painting humans.

Anyway, Korra with her new fabulous hair.
Enjoy~

You're welcome!!
OMG DO IT. YOU MUSTTTTT
It's actually hard to imagine Thranduil being Legolas's father- it's like, "hey dad how's being immortal goin? You look just as gorgeous as I do today." but Legolas is prettier actually XD idk it just seems awkward to me lol

xDD
No I can totally imagine it
They're just hangin' out in mirkwood kicking butt and being royal and gorgeous.
And drinking.
Legolas's amazing alcohol tolerance is hereditary xDD

XDD I guess sooooo
Especially the gorgeous part (and kicking butt too x3)
Legolas mustn't ever get drunk D:< //tries to imagine him drunk (and is unsuccessful because he's too awesome for thattt)

xD I can also imagine him drunk
tho
I've had a lot of drunkish roleplay covos where I'm lego and my friend is thranduil, their personalities got really goofy.
I can totally imagine it happening. xDD

Fantastic job jen! It's awesome seeing you push yourself to drawing people more ^^ (i'm hoping to do the same too eventually) But let's see if i can help here,
You have alot of wonderful detail and flow here, but be careful balancing her hair with with her face. Korra has a very round and smooth face and it looks a little too thin and hollow on the left side (our left) and I think part of that is from her eyes as well. The eyes are gorgeous and well detailed, but for this look you might wanna shrink them just a tiny bit. And also try to center them so they line up with her nose and mouth, they look kinda slanted here.
You did amazing on her hair ;33 it's such a natural brown and looks awesome with the gold lighting. Only thing is maybe put the hairline a little little bit closer on the edge. Her face has a nice painting texture on it but watch out for those scratch/paintbrush strokes, they make the texture a bit rough and in some places like around her eyes, almost like wrinkles. Try to focus on that blending to make it more nice and smooth. The painting on her torso is well, some blue parts should probably be blended a little more, but the whole torso shape is waay too small. Background is beautiful as always ^^ It's a nice blurring and emphasizing
So overall it was a great experiment for you! ;33 try work on angles and putting those little features with them, then practice some color blending between lights and darks to make them smooth and natural.
Well done! <33 Hope this helps ~ Jenn

Thanks for the critique, I really appreciate it
And thank you!

Making Korra semi-realistic was a bit challenging. I wanted to keep some of the features of the animation and basically pain it, that was one reason for the huge eyes, though these eyes were horrible xD When I finally develop me painting style I want it to be a fit rougher. Its just one of those things I'll need to keep working on.

Hm....I wouldn't wait a week to see how I felt about it. I'd be running around screaming and laughing and waving it in front of everyone's face like a maniac going: EHEHEHAHAHAH LOOK WHAT I DID! LOOK WHAT I DID! LOOK! LOOK! LOOK!
