Check it out! [link] 's contest is ending soon so I made sure I finished this in time!
It's a contest similar to mine, draw her character with yours and I picked her Tobu and my Vic. C: I was, of course, inspired by the song above with this one. Now to tell you my thoughts on it!Tobu is a kind of sad character but I really love her. I don't know why but she's always been one of my favourites of Kayoko's characters (though I love most of 'em!) so I always knew I'd draw her. Only after time did I decide on Vic and for one purpose. They would collide really well. Yes, yes, I'm acting like a producer for a reality TV show here but I thought about it a lot...xD
Tobu is very shy, pretty and pessimistic due to a childhood where she was abused and I imagine she was afraid to speak her opinion. Vic, on the other hand, was born barking out whatever she liked and having people being intimidated of her. At first, they seem like opposites... but they're also quite similar. Both from big families and I imagine both want to be seen as themselves. Furthermore, each has a trait they like in the other. Tobu would probably long for Vic's confidence and Vic would love to be delicate and pretty like Tobu. I always figured they'd start out as enemies but come to an understanding in the end...
And all that comes down to my concept! Vic is giving Tobu her hand to try and pull her up. Tobu has just been through a horrible day but Vic is trying to tell her she's worth more than that. I also imagined Tobu to have some sort of hideout like this tree on the hill... so yeah.XD Don't think I'll win but I had fun with it and Kayoko deserves this anyway!
And for my final note...
ARHJSFGGGGGGGGGGGG I DESIGNED THE KIMONO MYSELF AND IT WAS SO HARD. I had to research and research and research and practice drawing flowers for TOO LONG. D: I hope it turned out good.

The kimono is really pretty. Research and research and research paid off!
I also like how the characters have contrast and how that message kind of comes across with the background: Vic is the confident one and she's in the light and Tobu is shy and under the shade of the tree.

There's really no need to be jealous at all! XD All I did was a few layer effects. Any program like Photoshop and SAI can do them. From there, you just experiment.

Woah, nice combination of characters and background ! I really like the way the picture is "divided" to a lighter left side and darker right side (with the encouraging and the shy and sad part) The light effects, especially on the grass and next to Vic are nicely done also ! Great clothes and WOW THAT KIMONO. The effort pays off ^w^ Well done!
