I know, I was so surprised how well Dexter came out the first time I drew him that I just had to reuse the pic for the comic. Some went as far as call him hot. Haha. I love it when people say those things.

Whoohoo! XD *does fangirly backflips* I've suddenly gotten the urge to draw him your way. >.> Be on the lookout for that in the next few days. By the way, how long have you been drawing? And how in the world did you discover the use of Powerpoint in digital art? This is the first time I see anyone using that instead of OC or Painter or Photoshop.

Oh, by all means, bother me all you wish. ^^ It's nice to talk to someone about something I know little about. (Wow, that's almost a head-spinner. XD)
Photoshop may indeed be more tablet-friendly, but there are certain ways around it. For example, I've noticed that you use cell shading often in your artwork. Photoshop has a tool that is perfect for cell shading, and can be used by mouse users and tablet users alike. The Pen tool is just point and click and connect the dots, that's all. Much like Powerpoint, I'm beginning to think. Better yet, if you're going for a more soft shaded look or even realism, just use the pen tool to fill in the area with color, then use the Gaussian Blur filter to blur the colors and give it a softer look. It's a technique I myself am experimenting with at the moment. ^^ See? You don't need to blow $80 dollars on a tablet to be able to use Photoshop. (I myself am guilty of owning one, though. I'll admit it's an indulgence, since I don't plan on going into art.)
I don't know much about Open Canvas, since I've never used it myself. But I can tell you that it's a slightly simpler version of Photoshop. I'm pretty sure that Open Canvas can be manipulated with a mouse, since I've seen mouse-users submit some really nice artwork around here. Many of the things that can be done in Photoshop can be done in OC, though I'm definitely partial to PS. If you're familiar with Torrent downloads, I can point you in direction of a site where you can get a copy of Photoshop CS. (But shhhh, you didn't hear it from me. ^_~)
And you're welcome. It's really fun to discover new ways of doing things, and using Powerpoint to make digital art definitely falls into the "strange and interesting" category in my book. Not that you're not pretty interesting yourself. ^^ Tell you what, next time you're down in Florida, let me know and I'll let you buy me lunch. XD
On a totally random note, what kind of books do you like to read? (wow, these comments just keep getting longer and longer. We should consider moving this into a PM. XD)

"wow, these comments just keep getting longer and longer. We should consider moving this into a PM. XD" ...lead the way!
I tried playing with Photoshop a while back. ...can't say I got around to doing much except make clouds using a filter and adding a lense flare. But I am quite happy I understood everything you said. There may be hope yet!
OC; I'll give it a try sometime then. I'm more comfortable with simpler tools anyway, so I think I'd prefer it over PS.
Haha, sure...Florida. Hey, if not, I can just draw you lunch!
I have a (as you may put it) strange and interesting literature-preference. As a child, the first book I ever read was The Little Prince. Yes, not any of those nursery storybooks...may parents shoved me directly into the novellist world. Of course, I didn't understand everything in that book the first time a read it, but you know how it goes: a child reads the story over and over again and realizes new things about it everytime.
So I'm your typical "hidden-message-hunter". I'll take the simplest of books, such as the nursery stories I was deprived of as a child and read it expecting to find something most people will miss. Take the nursery rhyme "ring around the roses" for example. A little background research will tell you the grim story behind it; a disease somewhere in South Africa that was thought to be cured by "posies". When they realized otherwise, villagers burnt the bodies of those who had it ("ashes, ashes") in fear of it spreading, but the disease spread even more because of that and "they all fell down".
Humpty-Dumpty was more of a political issue in Europe, which was sort of a mockery of the monarchy...
So, you sort'a see how twisted I am with books. But contrary to what most of my friends think about me, I really dislike books such as "Da Vinci Code". NOT because of the religious issues, but because it is a forced attempt to reveal some sort of code on purpose. I honestly expected better from Dan Brown than that.
...So, er, what books do YOU read?
