Big distance for a classical Greek Temple situated on the British islands.

It's just a folly built in the classical style. Β

Wind blows, and a cloud flies.
People gather, and the history is made.
Thank you.

Great image.
Shame about those awful lights, you'd think the planners could have found a shovel somewhere?

I can't believe the planners would be so stupid as to think that was a good look.
Seems to happen all the time around these 'landmarks'.

I live in Southampton, the local tourist industry makes great play of the medieval 'old town'.
Then proceed to hide the ancient walls behind bus stops, shelters, signs and posters.
It confounds me?

Ah, lol i know that ploy only too well... The oldest building in newcastle has three road signs, big ones and a traffic light right in front

I was stopped in the street about a year ago by a council representative, who asked me about things in general, as a photographer, I went off on one about this subject.
I told her that the leader of the monuments dept. should be publicly raped with the rough end of a pineapple.
That was the end of the conversation surprisingly? Β

Sounds a perfectly good thing to say IMOΒ I'm tired of seeing old things plastered in lights and signs.

'They Ruined the Monument' page.
For grumpy buggers only?

Trouble is I don't have any messed up images, well not that way.
I'll have to go out and start collecting?

I've started.
Finding it difficult though, got to change my mindset.
Any ideas for a name?

Been thinking about that, I have misgivings as quite a few are ruins anyway, I know there is opportunity for a 'double entendre'.
Perhaps you don't feel as strongly as I do but a bit of a sharper β more focused title.
'Why do they do that'
'Town planners making the best of things β not!'
'How to make the worst of your community assets'
'How much did it cost to get this so wrong'
Or
'This is what happens when you let over educated people with no life skills loose'
Something along those lines or a bit more succinct preferably?
Any ideas?
Don't forget Iβm a grumpy old man.
