Is there also a way to change the color of the clothes without using photoshop?

I know there's an SFM tool for that, but I don't remember its name...

I don't think this is really practical, SFM Box has a script here which is normally for painting the hats: [link]

It's not cool if the hat is always pink like that, because that means you have to edit the VMT every time you want a different colour

Yeah I know that one, but since I already work on the characters' and items' skins all the time, this is easier for me to use. And since I always use this method, I made a tutorial about my way.

OK, but imagine seeing the exact same hat with the exact same color in a poster, the others being duplicates.

This script requires the Element Viewer which is very complicated, but can make good outcomes if carefully used.. Although, some of the guys on SFM Box seem to report there being glows around the hats, must be the burning effect!)

You may not have figured either, but VMTs with $blendtintbybasealpha (like on the many cars in L4D, or the original Common Infected), an alpha channel and starting tint with white means they are colourable. (Or are intended to have different colors)

Looking at that, the RGB values are float, which means value 1 is full color (That's why there's a glow!)
