I actually read the book and the movie definitely did it justice, I also found out that the book was written as if it was the abridgement of a longer book by a fake author (S. Morgenstern), the person who actually wrote it was William Goldman, who claimed that when he was a child his father read the good parts of the Original book to him when he was sick. Just a bit of a fun fact.

actually, s. morgenstern DID WRITE THE ORIGINAL! before you say an abridged isnt an abridged, do some damn research. Everything Goldman put in the book himself IS true, and he just cut the boring parts out like he said. I say this because I own BOTH versions. The really fun fact is that westley, buttercup, prince humperdink, inigo montoya, fezzik, miracle max, vizzi, count rugen, even the zoo of death were all very real. the motivations for the people in S. MORGENSTERN'S novel is the only ficticious part. read the book. please. before you make anymore stupid comments like this.

It's okay, my original comment was actually intended to inform a fellow fan of the Princess Bride of an interesting fact more than it was intended to correct you. No one is always right just as no one is always wrong, we all have our moments. The one thing that I liked alot that was in the book but not the movie was the fact that they went far deeper in the background of Fezzik and Inigo, if they were to make a remake of the Princess Bride movie I would like to see them show those stories, and they could have Mandy Patinkin play Domingo Montoya.
