it is the best tank in the world. There are a few that are close, the leo is very good, but for thew total package the M1A2 is the best in the world. The French LeClerc is good but a toy compared to the Abrams. So many designers try to go with an autoloader and remove the 4th man and it is a mistake. The best of auto loaders can load every 5-6 seconds. A decent loader in an Abrams is loading a round every 3 seconds. The one tank I really like is the Israeli Merkava Mk4. It is a main battle tank with the ability to carry troops AND has an escape hatch in the rear of the tank and the engine in the front. The downside is that the heat source is now up front and in the modern age of thermal sights thats a bit scary but the main concern for a tank crew is not the other tanks it is the mines and infantry with anti tank weapons that can get in close and strike. The Merkava has the extra guys to help with that.

It is incredible how contrasting something is. A working Abrams oozes dynamism and power, yet that wreck looks like it's part of the geological landscape.

And to Abrams fans, I'm not saying anything negative about the tank. It is one of the best tanks around.
