Which program did you use to make this?

It's been a long time, I think almost completely MS Paint but I probably did some adjustment of the brightness/contrast in Photoshop.

I actually didn't mean to make it look like it can seperate, but after a while I couldn't resist taking off the flight deck to see what it looked like. It was mostly weird, but kind of cool.
Haha, no elk visions for me, I think I've been working on it too long to see anything other that what I imagine ("Spacecraft Carrier!")

Flight decks are cool. Reminds me of the SDF-1 in a way.

What I wouldn't give for a modelling company like Bandai to develop a few models of the ship designs you've brought out. This has a certain quality about it that reminds me of something crossed between Nadesico and Macross. Very cool, btw.
lol, and nothing wrong with flightdecks in space. I could think of a few reasons to have them.

Yeah, but I can't help but thinking there's a better way...
Oddly enough, I haven't watched more than 30 seconds of Macross I can remember, I need to sometime. And yeah, I wish I had one of those huge 3D printer machines so I could make "real" models of some of these things.

I find the best designs that have been brought up for flightdecks in space are those that are more apart of the ship itself and can retract for protection. And the best three that come to mind is the Star War's Venator Star Destroyer, as seen in this art: [link] , the Tiger Claw from Wing Commander, and the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica. Those designs are pretty sweet in my book.

"...why you need a flight deck in space."
because it looks cool? XD

Exactly! Sometimes people take drawings like these too seriously, I think it's pretty obvious that I'm not going all-out for realism most of the time.
