I’m working on redrawing an old piece of fanart:fav.me/d2yzit9
This bit is always where I get stuck! I like my lines but have no idea how to proceed with color, haha. I’ve even thought about commissioning someone to color this piece for me!
Ah, well. I’ll figure it out eventually.

I know us artists tend to be hard on ourselves, but I really don't see the problem there! what I like the most about your lines here is that they give everyone a very distinct feel that accentuates their own textures, and the colouring was managing to do the same there by filling info about quagsire's type of skin and its' volumes.
Perhaps you could have contrasted it more by making the shadows darker, but they do fit to me. Besides, you can always do stuff like colouring the lines a bit when you are done rendering. I hope you get around it at some point!

Ah gosh, this honestly feels like kind of a weight off my shoulders. Thank you so much for your encouragement. This must just be the problem with doing personal projects is that it’s hard to get feedback while they’re in progress - but if it’s reading okay to you, maybe I really was just too “in my own head” about it?
Thanks for your suggestions re: darker shadows and colored lines - I’ll try to get back into this and apply those things!
