Well) Today is my birthday!!! So I don't want to write a novel here and hope you will like it anyway)First of all I should say, that the idea of this picture belongs to Anton Bastrykin - here is his page (please look through his gallery) [link]
Well, as you see - the battlefield and the dying young warrior reaching his hand, drained of all strength, to a beautiful (I hope you find her nice too) angel bent over him. You can hate or love her, but her intention is not to heal his wounds but just to finish his suffering. I don't know is she good or not - that's your choise.

Oh how the earth desires his sweet flesh yet his soul screams out to the celestial beings above. But alas, I must deliver his remedy with one swift kiss, a pure and holy reciprical of the kiss that was delivered to our blessed Savoir. Hush now child of sorrow, I will calm your alms with a mercy far above your understanding. Peace be still, assurance of your supreme death will be judged final and the majestic court of the heavens will sentence you to the fate of your own soul. May God be with you.

The lighting in this one is really somptuous
ANd of course, the little detail of the dagger she is holding behind her back is quite intriguing... Sorry to say that but usually I do not like angels that I consider as hypocrites whereas demons's aims are immediatly clear

Simply Beautiful. While I don't take the side of heaven, hell, or that which disclaims the existance of the former; I've always seen angels as salvation embodied. The blending of light and shadow is masterful indeed.

I did. Salvation is a rather loose term. to those who are suffering, salvation may merely be an escape from their pain. I believe the term to use here is "put someone out of their misery," no?
