Description Prehistoric World Creature File 40
Name: Hainosaurus Bernardi
Diet: Carnivore
Habitat: Late Cretaceous Ocean 68 Million Years B.C.
Current Park Population: 1 female
Being probably one of the largest of its kind, Hainosaurus is a marine reptile from the late Cretaceous period in what is now North America.  It shared many of the same family relationships with its closest relative, the Tylosaurus, it also lived in the same time and place, probably conflicting for territory and fighting for food.  The Hainosaurus is a predator, mostly hunting large prey such as fish, plesiosaurs, ammonites, turtles, sharks, and other mosasaurs.  Mosasaurs, such as Hainosaurus, share a living relative, Monitor Lizards, the share many of the same features as mosasaurs, such as a triangle-shaped head, a forked tongue, and an excellent sense of smell, but unlike the Monitor Lizards of today, the Mosasaurs have 2 sets of teeth, these teeth are used to pull prey down its throat so the prey can't escape.  This makes the Hainosaurus one of the deadliest sea monsters in Prehistoric World.
