Description
The lake sturgeon is a common species of fish known to live in the lakes of Ohio, and in the great lakes. Sturgeons are bottom feeders with sucker-like mouths to suck up algae and small fish. In the areas of Alaska, there are reported sightings of a giant white sturgeon of up to 16 feet long and able to pull a stump into the water with no struggle.
