Habitat: Late Cretaceous Tundra/Forest 65 Million Years B.C.
Current Park Population: 3 females
Troodon is a small raptor from the late Cretaceous Period, it is one of the last raptors that ever lived on Earth before the extinction of the dinosaurs.  These raptors can reach lengths of up to 8 feet in length, and weigh up to a surprising 110 pounds.  Troodons are pack hunters, having packs of up to 12 in one group, but will go in small packs of up to 5 to take down small prey such as small dinosaurs, or they can gather in large groups for the mating season.  They are the most intelligent of any dinosaur in the world, with a bird-like brain the size of an orange, these raptors can communicate using bird-like sounds such as chirping sounds, barking sounds, and many sounds relative to tropical birds.  Troodons are mostly nocturnal animals that hunt mostly at night, but it will come out during the day.  The Troodon makes one of the best additions to Prehistoric World.

Um, Troodon aren't raptors.  They're a separate group called Troodontinae.

oh they aren't?  I always understood they were raptors because they had the sickle-shaped claw on the foot.  Well my apoligies for the mistake

It's ok.  Yes, they do have the same claw, but it doesn't seem as big and deadly as dromaeosaurs.  There might be a connection between the two though in terms of family.
