Description In the past I broached the idea of a playable Master Hand to represent the Smash Bros series itself. Of course that notion never came to fruition, but you know who else has been in almost every Smash game as a native character? Sandbag!

Starting out as just a target to wail on during practice or stadium events, it has since been promoted to an actual battlefield player!
But why stop there? Why not allow this character (who is a character because they sought to give it eyes) to get their own back and bring the fight to the battlefield itself!?

We can always use a scrappy underdog, and he fits the bill well! Great job on nailing his simple but effective design. Keep at it!

For whatever reason, this reminds me of your original Smash project. Perhaps it's the reflection in his eyes. Still fantastic though!
Either or, I've always though that after a quadruped character, a character with no limbs ought to be a frontrunner (You have no idea how mad I was when Piranha Plant used his leaves as makeshift limbs, even if I really wasn't mad at all!)

If you look closely into the reflection in his eyes, you'll see an image of a three-eyed Daisy.

I get where you're coming from, but the trouble with a limbless character is that they wouldn't be very easy to actually implement. There needs to be a visual clue that your hitbox is extending to do damage (like an arm popping out) so a limbless character would have to have a weapon, or some other non-native props burst out of it (unless it's a blob who changes shape completely, but I can guarantee it would shapeshift into a big punching arm) so there wasn't really much else they could have done with Piranha Plant - they use its head often enough but I think the leaves were used for the sake of variety.

Also for holding items! Anybody who doesn't use arm uses their mouth, unless you just go the Mewtwo route and have them floating (which makes sense for Mewtwo but less so for other characters.)

I remember that old turn of phrase; Don't shoot until you see the white three eye.

Well, Sandbag is a sandbag, so I'd imagine most attacks would be him flopping around. Toppling over and crushing opponents with his weight for a Side Smash, spinning around for aerials, stuff like that!
Then for his specials I'd imagine he could use items like Bombchus and Home~Run Bats.

And finally, holding items! Maybe Sandbag could store items inside himself (since that's what he does best) and for items like the Ray Gun, they could peak out of a little hole in his head. Maybe he could store two items at once? Potential gimmick?
Though it would be funny if he had a Mii following him around, doing everything but the Sandbag thinks he's doing everything himself, resulting in several expressive faces!

Well let me say that I didn't necessarily think it was a bad idea, just unlikely for those reasons, though I quite like the idea of him having a patch that items pop out of and the concept of him actually generating normal items is an interesting one. Maybe a very small chance of a home-run bat but a very high chance of useless fans (they would have to make the fans useless in this game.)

Hey man it's alright, apologies for the previous idea dump I left above!
Wouldn't it be funny if they were items the Smash series discarded years ago? Like a Flipper launches Sandbag high up into the air for an Up Special. It could distinguish his moves from the ho~hum items Smash normally uses.

Anyhow, I understand this ain't a Smash project no more so it'd be best if I keep my trap shut!

You know what? I thought the exact same thing about using old items to distinguish from items anyone can use, I just didn't say it. But then you said it!

I knew that majoring in Destiny was a good choice.

Y'know, there's a little fan-game called Super Smash Flash 2 that has a playable Sandbag, among other things.

True, but I don't really consider glitches.
