Description Average angler fish have a pretty strange method of courtship. Males will attach themselves to the bodies of females and occasionally inject their reproductive fluids, or so my memory informs me. Angler Mog courtship is a little different though. When a female is nearby, males will quickly hunt and kill whatever's nearby and bring it to her. Females never pick just one male, they prefer to have them as feeding harems, but if a male brings a satisfying enough meal, she'll mate with him, and perhaps the others if they can bring her anything interesting. Males often like to fight amongst each other, almost gruesomely. Oftentimes you might see some are missing limbs or legs or even their lures, but these are injuries they'll learn to live with in time. Females hardly ever interact with each other, and some even argue they're never in the same ocean as each other, but when two females meet, they'll either compete over territory through a contest of flashing their lights and colors, or they'll simply try to mutilate each other until one gives up and moves on. Some Angler Mogs can also adapt to different niches of camouflage. while some prefer the cozy darkness of the abyss, some males may venture higher and try to camouflage into more colorful environments like reefs, but they don't always stay up there for too long. As you know, most deep-sea beasts can't stand lower levels of water pressure, but Mogs are tough as nails. If some males can adapt successfully to higher levels of the sea, such as reef environments and such, they'll eventually adapt to resemble things like wads of garbage, stones, corals, etc, but even then they still like to return to the dark depths from time to time. Most males only ever decide to venture upwards one they're sure there's no more sunlight. Angler Mogs HATE the sunlight, as it damages their fragile skin and eyes.
