I was feeling rather uninspired tonight so I got a little dolled up with my corset and a fun necklace and kinda let that dictate what I should do... well that lead me somehow to deciding that since I can't breathe anyway with the corset on, I may as well try to take a super long exposure picture... don't ask how my brain made that connection, but I'm rather glad it did... This one turned out really nicely I think, I really like the darkness to it, which I actually had to brighten up in post a little... other than that I didn't do anything to it, I thought about fixing the colors since they're a bit off, but I decided not to because I'm lazy and have to once again be at work super early in the morning (but this time only at 6 am, yay!!) So the final count on the exposure time for this one? 15 seconds!! Yup, I managed to stay mostly still for a whole quarter of a minute
My beads are a little fuzzy, but hey, a girl has to breathe a little, right? (And when wearing a corset, you have to breathe from your breast, not from your diaphram... totally opposite what most breath control training teaches you 
)

Very nice! Love the colours and the darkness of it. Kudos for staying still long enough. Must have been a challenge wearing that corset.

strangely I think the corset made it easier in some aspects... so much of your movement is restricted in a corset I think the rest of the body follows suit (in my case at least) and stays still longer... but the breathing, yeah that's a different story, holding my breath for 15 seconds was out of the question, because you can't take a deep breath very well in a corset...

Yeah, I've heard about corsets being very hard to breathe in. That's why so many women back in the day fainted, and needed those special chairs (settees I think they were called) to rest on.

yup yup, and this is nothing compared to what those ladies wore! It's thinner fabric for one (and I'm not wearing two, which most noble ladies wore) and the boning (the stuff that makes the corset so stiff) is made out of plastic in this one... the real deal was originally made of whale bone (hence 'boning'

hehe yup it's because it's so tight, it restricts the movement of the ribs that is associated with breathing from the diaphram (put your arms on your rib cage, about breast level (excuse me, pectoral level for boys, right? something like that
