Looks like you've found the perfect balance between speed paint freedom and solidity. Plus you've set up the image for easy refinement. WHAAHAHAHAH. I still find that hard to do! Nice job all the same, how long did it take you to get this far?? PS. Will the big, sort of toothy shadow on the left become an outline of another monster mouth??

Thanks, it's actually always been troublesome for me to hash out ideas quickly without going into detail. Honestly, I think this is still not where I want to be with speed painting but I am pretty happy with it overall. Took about three hours. I have to say, adding more big, dead monsters in there is not a bad idea. These were just really bad stalactites and stalagmites. Maybe I'll mess with it more one of these days...

Haha, thanks again!
The lighting I've learned from a couple different sources. Some is from working in 3D and some is from observation whether from real life or movies or games. Part of it is also just simple compositional tools like creating a focal point while still adding other less important points of interest. At the end of the day though, it's just a matter of doing it a lot.

I love the speed style on it.
What brush are you using?

It's a simple round brush with opacity set to pen pressure, but I added a dual brush component to get a narrower range of sensitivity without having to change my tablet settings. That way I can still switch back on the fly when I need softer blends.

Oh.
I don't have a tablet.. I really need to buy one of those pressure sensitive mouses.

Now you're talking! A mouse with pressure sensitive buttons. That sounds like the future my friend, go get the patent before someone else does...
