Description This took way longer than it needed to, but it's been a while since I've done any sword and sorcery type stuff. There's not too much I can say about this really though, as it's pretty much your standard wizard trying to defend himself from certain tentacle r@pe... C & C's welcome.

Ah, glistening, writhing tentacles. My favorite! I really like the way you did the lighting and glow effect, it seems full of energy and motion.

Awesome job! Like many have said the dramatic blue lighting is really top stuff! The only problem I had with the piece was I could not decipher whether it was under water or not due to the wisp things in the sky, I thought they were bubbles at a glance! Probably just me though. Or maybe it is under water? Hmm. The gravity of the monster puts this in question too! Maybe Fish or the moon could be added to hint more towards which habitat the painting is set in.

Regardless, top stuff!

You know, after all the time I spent on this I really tried to like it but it just never worked quite as well as some of my other stuff. I've actually been thinking of cropping it differently to have more of the creature out of frame to make it look bigger, but it doesn't necessarily solve any of the other issues. Anyway, good eye, it's not always easy to figure out where things aren't working too well.

I know the feeling, things have to click when you are working on something.
I think cropping the top, from perhaps the forehead up would create a mystery for the viewer, leaving the rest of the creatures frame to the imagination! Very cool idea.
And it's a pleasure, an outside eye always sees things different from your own.

Well, sort of. Last February I didn't have work so I had more time and motivation to get work done at home. These days I'm lucky if I can get two or three hours in on a piece which has made it kind of hard to finish long tasks.

Well, good to have you... half-back. I hope you get free time. I'm sure you do too, by the sound of it.

Whoa! The mega death tape worm boss from hell! Love the lighting! Especially like above the creature, makes it look watery somehow. Fade and blur simply spot on. .. Then again, the idea for this is way weird and totally cool!

Incredible work--the coloring is right on and the intense blue lighting works great. My favorite part is the texture on the monster.
The only suggestion I could think of here is maybe some clouds to make the background a bit more dynamic, since the sky looks a tad plain in comparison to what you have going on in the foreground. In any case, amazing stuff
