NOTE: This is a casual drawing done for my own enjoyment and not intended to be a 100% accurate depiction of deinonychus, so if you are striving to create an accurate depiction yourself I suggest you do not use this as a reference.

A doodle of a deinonychus I did to release some stress. Out of all the iconic dinosaurs I grew up with I feel like deinonychus was one of the most pigeonholed. Even now I rarely see deinonychus depicted in any new or creative ways, so I’d like to start drawing them more.

Something I often include in my dromaeosaurs is the puffin-like excess skin at the corner of the mouth and non-muscular jowls. I’m not sure how plausible jowls are, but so far I haven’t gotten a definitive “NO” from any expert yet, so unless I do I’m probably going to keep including them as a speculation. I like the way they look.
