Description This one isn't exactly a "new" piece as such, nearly two years ago I started making up some Angelic Space Marine models when Games Workshop re-released the Blood Angels but the project never eventuated for various reasons.

Dusted this guy off, did a few touch ups and made up the lava base for him and I'm thinking it might be worth my while to finish the other 19 of his buddies?

I think that was the idea. I did that back when the plastic BA kits first released a few years ago and never got around to finishing his Battle Brothers.Β 
Maybe some day I will.

only thing i say its missing is a orange glow highlight on his legs and lower armor areas to make it super detailed but its great as is.

Thanks! I'll readily admit that when I painted this, I wanted to add an orange glow to parts of the legs. But I wasn't confident I could do it and didn't want to risk spoiling what I'd already painted. When I paint the rest of the angels though, I'd like to try. And if I can pull it off, I'll come back to this model and give it that last finishing touch

a good idea would be to dry brush it with a mop brush for that nice genuine glow effect

White is not the easiest to paint. And you did great job with that!

This was painted with the old Skull White chalk, I mean paint. Skull White paint. I think the newer citadel white and Vallejo paints I now have, should make it much easier to paint more... Still, white's not easy.

Thanks! Yes, I've always found white (along with yellow) to be very difficult to work with!

I think I've painted a grand total of 8 yellow models in the entirety of my time in the hobby. A car when I was 9, 6 Imperial Fists (that I should have taken pictures of, dammit) and a Zoid.
And if I could never use it as the primary colour on a model, ever again, I would be a happy man

Haha well, I've got another 26 assembled and ready to paint, including characters... Just this one was pretty time consuming but I think an entire force of them would be worth it? Just gotta get a heap of other projects finished first!

Thank you! I was really worried about the base at first. Thought maybe it was a terrible idea at first but as I started to add the yellow it really began to look the part and I'm glad I persisted with it
