Description This poor little guy was one of three baby raccoons left behind when their mother disappeared.  ;-;   They were living in a tree down in the woods across the field from me.  Every time I've gone down there the mom has been there, but just recently she vanished and I haven't seen her since.  She could have been killed by a coyote, kit by a car, shot, anything really, but she didn't come back and the babies all died.  I was able to get them out of the tree though, so now I'm working on preserving their little pelts.  Poor things.  ;u;  They looked like dog puppies with their little noses.  I estimate them to be not much older than 4 weeks.   I may not have a full sized raccoon skin yet(I would never have killed a mother with babies), but these babies are good enough for now.  Raccoons are so beautiful.  c':

Look at that cute fuzzy baby fur! Will they be LS or soft mounted?

Hmm, I'm not sure.  I've thought about soft mounting, but I really need to get new supplies first.    >.<   They're so cute I'm scared I'll ruin them.

Actually, if you just did a traditional (no armature) soft mount, you'd only need needle thread and polyfil for the body. You could carve your own head for them using clay.  I'll bet that you'll end up instinctively  knowing what to do with them.

Yeah, the clay is what I need.  *u*'   I'm leaving this pelt as a pelt, but the next baby coon I'll try to mount!

Poor things that their mother is probably killed somewhere..
I hope you can preserve them well, they're really cute :3

They certainly are sweet things.  Nature is so cruel sometimes.  -sigh-

So far one is tanned and drying.  Besides the tail ripping off, she seems to be great!  c:  (Hopefully I won't rip the next one's tail off!)
