I can work with as little or as much as I am given.
Usually I get at least a rough sketch, but I have one person on my waiting list that just gave me a very detailed written description that I think should turn out nice. Β On the other hand, it's always nice when someone has a complete reference sheet and color chart, but it's never a requirement.
Other than that... since I only make show-style ponies, its gotta be one of the three main types. (no OC alicorns, sorry)
The end result is that you should be able to paste the pony into a suitable screenshot of the show and believe she/he belongs there. (aside from the occasional odd cutie mark or color scheme)
