Description I know it's all tiny and blurry, but you're going to have to put up with this crappy phone picture until I get this baby home to a real camera.

SO- last semester was a bust, so I'll upload something from this one! First painting assignment: Explore pre-Renaissance paintings. This monstrous 18x24" beast is study #2- which involved me trying out simplified forms, flat to minimal shading, and vague use of outlines. (I negated the background because background imagery was study #1.) But really I just wanted to paint a dappled horse...

LEGS! I really have to start painting above eye-level so this stop happening...

EDIT Changed the file to one taken with a real camera instead of a cell phone. Darker, but not quite as blurry..

Yay! A post!

Even though you say it may be tiny and blurry, I see a beautiful display of anatomy and shading. But not only that, the wispiness of the tail contrasts nicely with the colored outlines of the body.

I'm so glad you're back and I hope all has been going well with you.

Thanks, I'm happy you like it!! It was really just a nice stress-reliever masked as an assignment, but having actually turn out well is certainly a nice bonus.

Things are going better now- oh, the power of thinking positive!!
