EDIT: So this is officially Vampires Don't Belong in Fairytales now. Yup. Based on the books I'm still writing/editing...

EDIT: has also solved the riddle of Will's name! It's sort of a pun on the name 'Will Sommers' (pronounced more like 'Summers') who was the jester of King Henry VIII. Henry reeeally didn't like bad news... so it often fell to Will to break bad news to him.

What this is, is a job interview.
Both questions are a test to see if Will would make a good jester. Jesters have to make jokes and entertain the court - they are also the only one allowed to criticise the master.

So, when Tyrian asked 'How gay are you?' if Will had answered something like 'What?' and been thrown off balance or even 'Oh, pretty gay.' Tyrian would have rejected him. Those aren't very funny or creative answers, is why.
Likewise... when he asked 'Did you misunderstand my question?' if Will had answered with a simple 'No', that wouldn't do, despite a show of confidence. And even worse, if he'd said 'Er, maybe?' or otherwise failed to defend his answer, he also would have been rejected. Challenging Tyrian was the right thing to do =3 He likes people who stand up for themselves, but it's also kinda a job requirement, you know? =3

Him being a court jester is also a clue to why his name is what it is...

I was going to add a background but I'm too lazy right now and this already took like, 4 days despite all the copy/paste cheating I did. To be fair, I did lose almost a whole day while I was doing the cosplay thing.

So, the other day this guy just strolls into my head and demands a job.. I was happy to oblige =3 So Tyrian has a new friend, yay!

Will here is Tyrian's court jester. He's fairly recently employed, and sort of on a gap year. From Earth like Lucinda and Rosie, Will was very interested in Fairyland, but he quickly discovered that it's no place for humans. Normal humans at any rate. Not that he let that stop him, he went back prepared... by wearing a hood ^-^; He blagged his way into the palace of the Dark Realm, knowing that the royal familiy there were descended from humans(I use the term 'humans' loosely here...). He really did his research - the palace of the Dark Realm employs the most humans in the whole of Fairyland.

I'm tempted to let you figure out what this conversation is about for yourselves...

And no. It's not a case of
'Are you gay?'
'Yes.'
'You're hired'

..hmm. No, I do want to see what you guys have to say.

EDIT: I will explain Tyrian's expression in the panel where he says he has one question. He looks slightly annoyed because he doesn't like Will implying that he's a soft touch... he hates being underestimated.

A free chibi to the person who gets closest to the answer!

Hint: If you're going to get distracted by the word 'gay'(in either sense) then you will be barking up the wrong tree entirely... what I want to know is... what is this exchange really about? You shouldn;t be thinking 'what did he ask?' although, there is an abstract answer to that.. it's more 'Why is he asking those things?' Does that help? Am I being less cryptic now...?

Also 20 points to the clever clogs who can tell me why he's called Will Winters.
