Every time I decide on a vacation/holiday, I do alot of research on pricing etc...some places shouldn't be done on a low budget. You might not stay as long but thats ok. I was 25 when I went to Austria/Germany it took 3 years to save for it(working and going to school at the same time) but well worth the wait. It's one budget that I was glad I stuck too. After that I took alot more trips but stayed closer to home( less than 5000 miles away) less expensive so I could go more places!

I'm planing to visit Austria this summer.. what are the most beautiful places there?? I want to see the countryside too ..must be too beautiful.

The five largest cities are Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg, and Innsbruck.
Visit Salzburg if you've ever seen Sound of Music! It's the birthplace of Mozart, and is dominated by churches, castles and palaces.
Linz is cool because it's port on the Danube.
Innsbruck, the capital of Tirol, is soooo beaitful and charming with its medieval flair. Pay a visit to the famed Swarovski Crystal World.
Hallstatt is a pristine lakeside village in the heart of the Salzkammergut region and is recognized as a
" World Heritage" site with 4500 years of history. Explore the ice caves and ancient salt mines.( Seefeld and Hallstatt are my favorite towns)
Vienna, known for its rich cultural heritage is Old World Europe in the 21st century. It's a good base camp for endless day trip possibilities to Graz, Salzburg, romantic Danube castles, and the spa town of Baden.
Even if museums aren't your thing, you'll find one here to visit, thats one thing I'm sure of.
It' looks like I'm writing a novel, so I'll stop here. Just make sure you got plenty of film or an extra memory stick for your camera. Have fun!

i went there two weeks ago and fell in love with it, especially some of the houses higher up. unfortunetly it rained when we were there but it was beautiful all the same

Great shot of hallstatt, the angle showing just how close the village and lake are too each other. The way the light is hitting the buildings looks great too. Very interesting to see, because when I visited that town it was overcast and rainy.
