NCC-1701 or one of her sister ships? Either way, fantastic. This brings up a interesting question. Why did Gene Roddenberry decide to use alpha suffix to the designation of the Enterprise? The navy doesn't do that when they choose to reuse a name for a ship. By that, I mean when the original Enterprise aircraft carrier was scrapped, they didn't designate the new Enterprise CV-6-A; they designated it the CVA-65, then redesignated it the CVN-65. Just curious.

Yes that is the enterprise.
Also the name enterprise, has being around for a long time.
Many ships have used the name!

That's true. I Googled the ship name and found that the CVN-65 is the eighth American ship to bear that name. So, it's one of the more popular ship names in the American inventory.
