Description For all its lymphatic nature
fog appears rapidly and spreads
its shroud tightly about the farm

And though blinding, sheep and people
stumble smoothly through its unguent
body. Wood smoke fails to coerce

its opacity and drops moistly.
Apparently sectile it flinches
though heals instantly.

I swear I saw these horses before...
if not, it's a very Albertan scene...

They are certainly from Alberta, as that's where I live

Yep, me too.

The pic reminds me of a hazy past memory of getting up in the morning to fetch the paper and seeing the horses grazing in the misty neighbour's paddock just across the road. Anyway, kudos on an awesome pic.

Ah, you're an Albertan as well? I hope nowhere near Calgary...

Far enough away from Southern Alberta (thank goodness!) -- though I should note that nearby Devon's flood watch is still continuing.

Though Calgary was the "big news" city, I've been more concerned with the other towns along the rivers, where some of my friends' family and relations reside (e.g., Canmore, High River).  Calgary will rebuild (again) and get a quite a few cash handouts in the near future (with it being a favoured economic centre).  I really fear the small towns may end up getting the short end of the stick, even though they were harder hit.

My prayers are with all of those living on Southern Alberta's floodplains at the moment...

-nods-
I'm Albertan myself, and I was in between northern floods and the southern ones, and my children were in Drumheller, which is still getting consistent updates and alerts - not to mention family from North to South. They say it's one of the worst natural disasters to hit Canada, ever. Sigh.
