I painted this picture to celebrate the work that the charity Tearfund has done in this lady's life and how donations to charities like Tearfund can transform the lives of others in really difficult situations.

Elizabeth, from Uganda, was living a life so hard that she wanted to die. She was inspired through the bible to be a light in her community. The charity helped her to start a Cassava business and to pass on what she learnt to others in her community. Now people are growing more crops and are able to buy thing like decent clothes.

This is a quote from her:

"I am a widow without children. I suffer from leprosy. Leprosy makes my life very difficult. My fingers are very fragile. It can be hard to repair my house and cut the grass. Life became so hopeless and I felt I couldn't even live on Earth anymore. It was a miracle when the church [/Tearfund] helped. It has bought changes in my life that I never thought would happen…I live by faith in God and God is my protection".
