Description
This was my first time ever putting a gingerbread house together, but I think it turned out great! This was made from a pre-packaged kit that provided some of the candy used here, and the rest were bought separately. Also, it was my mom's idea to make a pretzel stick fence and a peppermint border around the cookie sheet, which serves as the base.
(Can you spot the "garage" in the back behind the gingerbread house? XD Both that and the cookie in the front are pre-packaged miniatures my mom got at our local dollar store. Don't worry; they're 100% edible. ) The back of the house is decorated as well, but this photo only shows the front-side. Here's a list of the various other candies and stuff that we used:
Marshmallow fluff covering tinfoil for the base
Assorted Runts candies
Green gummy bell
Marshmallow snowman & Christmas trees
Nerds candy pieces
Bottlecaps candies
Sweetarts candies
Reese's Pieces
Lots of icing for decorating and putting the house together! XD
Candy-coated almonds (white ones) as "snow mounds/boulders"
Powdered sugar to give the base some texture and to add the finishing touch!
And that's it! It kind of looks too nice to eat, doesn't it? Hope you enjoy, and have a happy holiday, everyone!
