Description I don't usually show my unfinished stuff on here, but I wanted to know what you guys think.

I know it's really rough. It's taken me about 2 hours I think to do this little section, (which is a lot of patience for me haha).

I've used ultra fine sharpie-like markers, and my colours are very limited. It has a grungy look to it.. that I wasn't intentionally trying to do

Anyways, I dunno if I like it what I've started or not.. What do you think?

This caught my attention in thumbshare, even though I'm not a fan of the red hair, green eyed combo. It were the bold, grainy rich tones combined with the intense, brooding gaze.

This looks amazing so far! I love the sort of grittiness in the colors and hatching style. I say you should definitely take a shot at finishing it at some point or maybe working with the same concept.

I like the crosshatching style you have going. I wouldn't completely finish it if I were you, leave some areas alone. Hell, I'd leave it the way it is if I were you and clean up the scan-lines

Neat shading and hatching, and a wise choice to use purple as one of the shades in his face. In the forum you asked for critisism, this is not really critisism as much as a word of advice. Make sure you have made a proper sketch before adding inks/markers. And don't ink it before you are absolutely satisfied. I know it itches in the fingers to get an image done but leaving the sketch for a day or two and the looking over it is a real good thing. It will make you see flaws or things that can be improved easier. Also try to colour one area for the whole image at once. Ie get all the base skintone done first. Then go for the soft shades in the entire face etc. This will make you have a better consistency in colours. This is not a huge problem if you work with copics but still. It will make shading/highlighting easier. Hope this helps some, and if not just ignore it and tell me to go eat my shorts or something

Wow thank you so much for your comment. I never get any with that level of detail. I have yet to actually finish this piece, which is frustrating! I know what you mean, I tend to usually colour one patch at a time rather than one colour at a time. Which I totally agree with you on, as I always find I've used a slightly different shade of colour when I revisit work later on. I've never used copics, I've heard there good. I always tend to stick with sharpies or ultra fine bic style pens. Thank you so much for your advice!
