Description
For 's Coloring Book contest! Held every year, I wanted to do something to celebrate this yearly tradition. And for my first piece: I had to do Ralph!I tried did my best to base this piece off of Johannes Vermeer's work. I looked up his paintings and found that his paintings used a lot of blue, red, and yellow pigment colors that stood out from the rest of the painting. I thought that I should use those bright colors to show how he used them (though unfortunately I don't think I might have gotten my point across. I tried to make it like his paintings, but it just seems...wrong to me).

I think the background change truly pays to the final result. The dark colors concur to bring it really close to the artist's style, maybe a little less saturation would make it even closer.

You did very well with the blue lighting and think you definitely nailed that aspect of Vermeer. I also like that you created a digital interpretation of his "expensive" pigments. Good job!

I like the bright colors, I think they were a great choice for a character like Ralph. The shading you did also helps to give it a special touch instead of being just flats.
